While many fans have loved The Walking Dead over the course of four seasons so far, the critics haven’t seemed to feel the same way about the hit series. Most of the bigger awards shows overlook The Walking Dead when it comes to nominations for awards. Yet, one star from the show recently received a nomination for a Critics’ Choice.
After 4 years on The Walking Dead, Melissa McBride finally got a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Melissa McBride is definitely worthy of the nomination. Her work as Carol Peletier on season 4 of The Walking Dead was one of the major reasons why it was a big success. From being kicked out the group to dealing with Lizzie’s shenanigans, her storylines have kept her a major player on the show. Her ability to pull great emotions out of scenes should give her a good chance at walking away with a Critics’ Choice win.
She will face some stiff competition from other actresses. Here are all the nominees in the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category:
- Christine Baranski – The Good Wife (CBS)
- Anna Gunn – Breaking Bad (AMC)
- Annet Mahendru – The Americans (FX)
- Melissa McBride – The Walking Dead (AMC)
- Maggie Siff – Sons of Anarchy (FX)
- Bellamy Young – Scandal (ABC)
The Critics’ Choice Awards can be seen Thursday, June 19th on The CW. It will air at 8 PM Eastern Time from the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Tune in to find out of Melissa McBride can bring home a great victory for The Walking Dead.
