The Walking Dead is a fantastic viewing experience on AMC, but there are a lot of fans who want to immerse themselves in the world of the walkers. So far, for them there has been The Walking Dead Experience and two events at Universal Studios in Hollywood and Orlando.
Great news hit the internet recently when it was revealed that Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort have brought back The Walking Dead to what they call “Halloween Horror Nights“. This is the third consecutive time that The Walking Dead will be a featured attraction at Hollywood Horror Nights, which is unprecedented for an attraction at the parks.
Fans at this year’s event will get to go through an all-new maze inspired by Season 4 of The Walking Dead. The maze will have a starting point at the fallen prison and a finish which will be the sanctuary at Terminus. From the beginning of the maze, participants will have to escape the walker infested prison and try to make it through the maze to safety.
Executive Producer and Special Effection Makeup Supervisor Greg Nicotero had this to say about The Walking Dead maze at Universal on the official AMC site:
“This has been an incredible collaboration and I am thrilled to be working once again with the creative teams at Universal Studios Orlando and Universal Hollywood to bring the world of The Walking Dead to our dedicated fans. I can’t wait for visitors to experience first-hand some of the iconic moments from Season 4 in what will be the biggest, most exciting and frightening Walking Dead maze to date.”
Hollywood Horror Nights look to run from September 19th to November 1st in Orlando. The dates for Hollywood have yet to be announced. Check out their official page for more information.
