Emily Kinney Hasn’t Watched The Season 5 Midseason Finale

Of all the people that haven’t seen The Walking Dead’s season 5 midseason finale, you’d think Emily Kinney would be close to last on that list.  However, she just hasn’t brought herself to be able to do it yet.  Some call it her finest work on the hit AMC show when was was acting as the popular character Beth Greene, but she isn’t quite ready to see it for herself yet.

Emily Kinney told Entertainment Weekly all about why she hasn’t watched the episode.

"“Something happened this season — it started happening last season too, where I feel like I had a certain experience filming it, and while it’s nice to see the final product come out, it’s not so enjoyable.  It’s not as though I’ve been like ‘Oh, I’m never watching it.’ But I actually have not watched the episode. I haven’t sat down and watched it. I feel it’s sort of out of my hands at a certain point and I’m very proud of the work I’ve done with The Walking Dead. I don’t feel like it would be fun to watch myself. It feels a little painful.”"

Judging by the fan response on social media, I bet many viewers of The Walking Dead wish they hadn’t watched it yet either.  They have expressed the same kind of lack of enjoyment for the episode because of the death of Beth Greene and have felt the pain as well.  Although their level of discomfort with the scene most likely can’t even come close to match that of Emily Kinney.

Hopefully she will watch the episode one day, since it was actually quite well done and will give her a very emotional response.  I know that many viewers still cry when they watch the episode or even think about the end of that episode.

It’s possible that we will still see more of Emily Kinney in flashbacks during The Walking Dead, but for now we have to assume that we’ve seen the last of the young, blonde songstress on the hit AMC show.  And that’s enough to make anyone a bit sad.
