The Walking Dead was featured on The Today Show this week, and the cast kept it light with the interviews while teasing the upcoming midseason premiere of the show.

We are just around the corner from the midseason premiere of The Walking Dead and that means the hype machine is turning faster than it ever has. Proof of this was seen when The Today Show took a visit to the set of the series, as Natalie Morales interviewed that cast and got the lowdown on the final eight episodes of this fifth season.

The interviews were light and fluffy, for the most part, but that’s perfectly alright. It gave us all insight into how light the show stays when the cameras aren’t rolling.

In an interview with Natalie Morales on the Today Show, Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene on The Walking Dead, notes that he would probably be the first guy to go if the zombie apocalypse ever really happened.

It’s a hilarious little interview that shows just how different yet similar McDermitt is to the character he plays on the show.

Something is just off though about hearing McDermitt talk in full Eugene getup and not using an accent. That’s just wrong, but it’s something that proves how connected he is to the character. His honest answer about being eaten first in an actual zombie apocalypse is probably something we can all identify with as well.
