The Walking Dead: 2 specials to air on AMC before October

Prior to the premiere of season 7 of The Walking Dead, fans will be treated to 2 specials on AMC: a preview special and a review special.
With all of the photos and interviews and the trailer for season 7 at San Diego International Comic-Con last weekend, one tiny announcement from Chris Hardwick at the panel wasn’t given much attention. The premiere day of October 23rd was an exciting announcement, but the news of these specials seemed to slip by.
There will be 2 specials. The first will air on August 14th and it will preview season 7. The second will air on October 16th and it will recap all 6 seasons of The Walking Dead. The date of the second special makes the October 23rd premiere date make more sense. It will be aired on the Sunday between the Fear the Walking Dead finale and The Walking Dead premiere.
The Walking Dead Season 7 Preview Special will air the Sunday before the return of Fear the Walking Dead on August 14. It will be hosted by Chris Hardwick and include exclusive interviews with the cast and executive producers as well as behind-the-scenes moments.Guests for this Talking Dead style special have yet to be announced.
The recap special doesn’t have a title or much information to report yet, but is expected to be a review of all 6 seasons of The Walking Dead. It should be a great way for fans to reminisce and really remember what the group has been through leading to this pivotal moment in the series.
Next: The best and the worst of the season 7 trailer
The flashbacks in the trailer gave only a split-second glimpse of what the characters have to live for right now in that moment. This special should be a way of showing not only what they have to live for right now, but everything they’ve been through since things started to make them who they are bringing them to this point.
The Walking Dead season is almost here! With Fear the Walking Dead and these 2 specials, even more of our Sundays can belong to the Dead.
