The group is on the road as the two vehicles from Prescott are traveling East. Conrad struggles with the loss of Francine, and Javier apologizes to him. That apology is met with anger and frustration, with him blaming Javier for the entire attack.
Javier reminds Conrad that he lost someone too, but that doesn’t help one bit. Eleanor steps in to try to calm everyone down, but Gabe grabs a gun and tells Conrad to back away. They try to talk Gabe down, with Javier saying to put the gun away and that killing an unarmed man will be something he regrets for the rest of his life. Gabe says to never touch his uncle again before running off.
Conrad breaks down in tears and says he wants to go back to bury Francine, but Trip says it is way too dangerous with Prescott overrun. Eleanor says it’s not safe where they are either, so they should keep moving. Clementine recommends Richmond and Javier agrees with her, but Conrad and only think of revenge. They agree on Richmond as Clementine talks to Gabe. Eleanor thinks they might hit it off, and Javier hopes they do.
In the vehicle, Eleanor is driving and Kate is burning up and very thirsty. Javier gives Kate his water bottle, and she takes a big drink. Eleanor says thirsty and hot isn’t good, and it’s probably sepsis. Kate is still in a lot of pain, and Javier jokes that she needs a pity party. Kate says she gets a pass for getting shot in the spleen.
Kate says they both know she’s going to die, and that this might be her chance for a graceful exit. Javier says she can’t talk that way, but she wants to consider ending things before she becomes too much of a liability.
She also worries about Gabe, but Javier says that Gabe has to be tough. Kate says she might not understand the world anymore, but wants the young man to become what he needs to be in order to survive and puts Javier in charge of that. However, Javier says she isn’t going anywhere.
