The Walking Dead, Time For After: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
8) It’s amusing seeing Rosita be the voice of caution and Tara the voice of action. For the better part of last season, Rosita was the one rashly attempting to strike back against The Saviors.
9) Rosita lamenting that she used to think it was better to risk than wait, while certainly a reference to her and Sasha’s failed mission in last season’s “The Other Side”, may also be a reference to her failed assassination attempt on Negan in that season’s “Hearts Still Beating”.
10) Rosita goes on to say that she wished it hadn’t taken seeing Sasha dead to realize her mistake. Is this foreshadowing what Tara and Daryl may soon experience?
11) Eugene going to kiss Negan’s hand as if the latter were a mob boss is some rather funny irony, considering how much The Saviors’ behavior resembles a protection/extortion ring.
12) Eugene’s flashback to Sasha is her first appearance thus far this season.
13) Eugene’s flashback to Sasha in the casket is also the second reference to her (In that state, no less) in this episode.
14) Eugene activating his iPod plane (In spite of Dwight’s threats) is the seventh time he has (Even if inadvertently) acted to save others. The other six were his two saves of Tara (In “Self Help” and “Spend”, respectively), using the van to lure the revolving door walkers away from Glenn (Also in “Spend”), his fire truck heroics (In “Self Help”, again), biting Dwight to distract The Saviors (In “Twice As Far”), and his attempt to mislead The Saviors with the RV in “Last Day On Earth”.
