Tara chooses to help Glenn.

Season 4 Episode 15 “Us”

Renee says:

Season 4 is packed with so many pivotal moments that it was difficult to choose just one. We witnessed a lot of growth for many people in Rick’s group. They are all on different routes to the same place, Terminus, and we get to see new sides to many of our favorites. After much thought I choose Tara following Glenn into the tunnel to find Maggie.

Up to this point, Tara has been beating herself up about being involved with the Governor and his group. You can see it in her eyes and in her conversations. By agreeing to follow Glenn into the tunnel we can see she is trying to make amends for being involved with the group that attacked the prison. As her and Glenn walk into the tunnel she explains to Glenn her feelings and experiences at the prison. Of losing her girlfriend, her niece, and sister. But, she says it was nothing like watching him kill Maggie’s father.

When they approach the cave-in in the tunnel they realize that this happened recently and it gives both of them hope. Tara is hesitant to follow Glenn because of all the walkers. She ends up getting stuck and wants to sacrifice herself so Glenn can go on. He won’t let her do that and then Maggie and company save the day. When Tara meets Maggie she is very hesitant to say anything to Maggie. But, in true Maggie style she welcomes her with open arms.

I feel this is a turning point for Tara. She sees that there are still good people in this messed up world. That she can come alongside the good ones and fight for a better life. She also sees grace from Glenn. Tara eventually becomes a powerhouse in TWD world. I hate that she is gone because I had high hopes for her character.
