Richard Tells Morgan The Truth
Season 7 Episode 13, “Bury Me Here”

From the very start when tasked to pick our favorite moments, believe it or not, this was the VERY first scene to come to my mind. While I had others I was also certain of from the beginning, this was the one that had me scrambling to rewatch the episode. It isn’t even my favorite scene of the whole show, that would take much longer and a lot of stress to pick, but it is certainly one of the most powerful by far. Lennie James and Karl Makinen nailed this scene flawlessly and their amazing acting skills are what made me immediately think of this episode.
This episode has an insanely wild twist with Morgan savagely killing Richard while everyone, even saviors watched in horror. However, this confrontation is bolder to me. We have Richard pouring out his soul, telling the entire story of his family. How everyone he loved died, how it was supposed to be him and not Benjamin. He breaks down, shows all his cards and promises to do everything it takes to make up for what he has done.
During this amazing dialogue, Morgan says absolutely nothing. Not a word. He doesn’t need to, his face is worth a million novels. You can see the rage, the disappointment, him unhinging and losing it inside his head. Anything Richard could have possibly said to him would have been wrong. When Richard finally tells Morgan he needs to kill, and the plan they need to do you finally see Morgan’s face change. At that moment he made his decision.
