1) This episode begins with a flashback to seven years before the present day. It’s strange that both flashbacks to Alpha and Lydia’s history in the apocalypse are the most chronologically specific flashbacks in The Walking Dead.

2) Who was the woman in the crashed car in the beginning of the flashback? With how close she was to the hospital, could she have been someone Beta knew?

3) If my calculations are correct, this flashback would take place approximately six months after The Saviors were defeated (Give or take a few months), as the preface states that the flashback takes place seven years prior to the present. As we learned in Rick’s final episode, “What Comes After”, the time jump between his disappearance and the present is six years, and, as we learn from Maggie in that same episode, Rick’s disappearance happened a year and a half after The Saviors’ defeat.

4) Interestingly, as the woman in the crashed car is devoured, Alpha snarls, mimicking a walker. This is the first time we’ve seen this behavior from any member of The Whisperers, which is strange because, up to this point, it’s something we haven’t even seen them do in the present.

5) During their first meeting with Beta, Alpha is quite protective of Lydia. Considering what we saw of their relationship last season, this is rather surprising.
