Milo is playing with an airplane and Negan walks up and jokes about it crashing. He tells Milo that he doesn’t bite. He’s there to keep him company while his mom packs. Milo asks about Brandon, and he lies that he’s going to get supplies, but then he confesses that he sent Brandon away. Then he tries to explain what it’s like to fly on a plane to Milo, since the world ended before he was even born. Milo is enthralled by the story. Negan tells a great story, painting a picture of what it was like to fly, down to what Lucille thought about the food they served.

He feels genuinely bad that Milo has to miss out on so many experiences. He won’t even get to try the fine art of nut tapping, which is the way you get even with someone when you need to. Milo is a natural, and Negan is in his element when talking with him. He says he needs to go get firewood to make dinner. Milo is all packed up, and Negan says that he knows it’s hard to move but he knows where to go where it’s safe. He describes the Hilltop and says he’ll get them as close as possible but he can’t reveal who brought them there.

Gamma leads the new walker to the creek and takes out her aggression on the walker as she thinks back to what happened to her sister. She’s angry, and she slices open her hand in the process. Aaron sneaks up on her and tosses her some bandages. He tells her his name and says he’s from Vermont, but she won’t stay to talk to him.

Dog tracks down Kelly, who is passed on against a tree. Connie asks if she’s ok, and she is. Magna offers her some water and Daryl watches over them. Magna says they need to get back to Hilltop, but he says they need to go closer. Kelly tells Magna to tell Daryl, and Connie reveals a truck full of supplies. Connie didn’t know about it, but Magna and Kelly did. Magna says she doesn’t trust Daryl, who can’t believe they stole from Hilltop. Connie wants to tell Hilltop that they found it.

As Negan walks back with the firewood, he hears a whistle. It’s Brandon, who is standing over Milo and his mom’s dead bodies doing the Savior whistle. He says he realized that what Negan said on the bus was a test. He wanted to make sure that Brandon had strength to do what needed to be done. He starts to say “I am Negan” when Negan grabs a rock and bashes his head in for killing the mom and son.

Negan goes to the backpack and grabs Lucille and his jacket and walk away.
