19) Alpha is the thirteenth named character to die (third in this episode), the twenty-fourth Whisperer we’ve seen die, and (approximately) the twenty-seventh overall this season.
20) Alpha is also the second major (as in one lasting for at least a season) hostile group leader to die in the series, behind The Governor (in the Season Four midseason finale, “Too Far Gone”).
21) Alpha is also the second person Negan’s killed this season, behind Margo (even if that one was accidental).
22) Alpha is, so far as we’ve seen, the first woman Negan has killed intentionally.
23) If Carol’s response to Negan presenting her with Alpha’s severed head is any indication, it would suggest that she, not Lydia, was the one who released Negan from his cell at the end of this season’s fourth episode, “Silence The Whisperers”.
