Connecting The Walking Dead: ‘Brave’
By Liam O'Leary
Elizabeth’s Daughter
When attempting to build some trust between her and Hope and Iris, the Civic Republic Military’s Lieutenant Elizabeth Kublek reveals that she has a daughter, who also serves in the CRM, and is, Elizabeth mentions, “often away”.
When I heard Elizabeth discuss this daughter of hers, do you know who I immediately thought of?
ISABELLE.
Now, I’ll grant: I have very little in the way of evidence for this (It’s why I haven’t dedicated a full theory to it…yet), but, I can’t help thinking it. Isabelle was so dedicated to the Civic Republic’s idea of the future, it just screamed someone who had this sense of duty drilled into them from a young age, presumably by a parent who believed in the Civic Republic’s ideology, and who better to instill this into a teenager or young adult than a parent who leads the Civic Republic Military?
…No one, that’s who.
On top of that, what little we do know about Elizabeth’s daughter fits with what we know about Isabelle. For example: We can deduce that, if Elizabeth’s daughter isn’t home much because she’s always off on missions, she must be extremely dedicated to the CRM and the Civic Republic’s ideals, and, from we saw of her, this is a good description of Isabelle, who killed her partner, climbed up a rock face (Nearly falling off in the process), and fighting off several infected just to uphold the Civic Republic’s secrecy. Sounds like a very dedicated person to me.
Plus, doesn’t it seem convenient that, as we’re introduced to a major villain of World Beyond, who happens to be a bigwig of the CRM, we discover that she has a daughter, who also serves in the CRM, and, the only other character we’ve met from the CRM just happens to be a woman young enough to be Elizabeth’s daughter? It’s convenient, alright, maybe even a little too convenient, and, while I’m perfectly happy to admit that I could be wrong, I’m also willing to bet that, as World Beyond continues to unfold, we may find more evidence that supports my hypothesis.
