Frank Darabont served as showrunner for the first season of The Walking Dead and developed and produced season 1 and part of two. He also wrote episodes for the first two seasons and directed the pilot episode of “Days Gone Bye.” Throughout his career, Darabont has worked on some amazing films, most notably, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist. Which are all adaptations of Stephen King’s works.

Another lesser-known series Darabont created and directed, Mob City, is based on John Buntin’s book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City. The series was created for TNT and aired for one season in 2013.

Based on the true story of the conflict between the Los Angeles Police Department under the leadership of Chief William Parker and the LA mafia led by Bugsy Siegel. Set in 1947, with flashbacks to the 1920s, the series shows the noir period in LA, which was all about flashy cars and movie stars. This was also a period of time, based on lies and corruption when half the LAPD was run by mafia families.
