Andrew Lincoln is probably best known as the hero, Rick Grimes, from The Walking Dead. Many believe the show never recovered after he departed from the series. As fans anxiously await his return in the spinoff The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live in February 2024, they can fill the void with another role for which Lincoln is well known. He portrayed Mark, the cue card guy, from Love Actually, a film that turned 20 this year.

Directed by Richard Curtis (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, and Bridget Jones series), Love Actually is a Christmas romantic comedy that follows ten stories interlinked in some fashion.

The film features an ensemble cast of mostly British actors, including Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Keira Knightley, Martine McCutcheon, Bill Nighy, Rowan Atkinson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thomas Sangster, January Jones, Martin Freeman, and Billy Bob Thorton as the president of the United States.

Lincoln portrays Mark, a love-struck man secretly in love with his best friend’s wife. His iconic scene where he uses cue cards to silently declare his love has been spoofed numerous times in hilarious ways. It is a scene that Lincoln and the movie are well known for.

Why do people like the movie Love Actually?

The heartwarming stories and interesting characters draw many people to the film. The all-star cast is another draw, and the movie is an excellent meld of comedy and drama.

Add to that, the soundtrack is quite impressive, with songs by Kelly Clarkson, Dido, Norah Jones, Maroon 5, The Beach Boys, Joni Mitchell, and many more.
