Fans of The Walking Dead anticipate the three new spinoffs that will air in 2023. The Walking Dead: Dead City will debut in April 2023, with The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will come later in the year. The Rick & Michonne series is one that fans are really excited about. This series will see the return of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira).
Production List has filming for this series list to begin in Atlanta, Georiga, in February 2023 and will then move on to Carlstadt, New Jersey. Little is known about what this series will entail, but Scott M. Gimple will serve as showrunner, with Lincoln and Gurira as executive producers.
Comic creators Robert Kirkman and David Alpert are listed as producers, with Gimple, Caleb Womble, and Angela Kang.
Another exciting list of names tied to the series is that of directors. There will be six episodes for The Walking Dead: Summit season 1, and Production List has 12 directors listed.
The Walking Dead Rick & Michonne spinoff directors
There are several familiar names on the list of directors, including Greg Nicotero, Michael Cudlitz, and Aisha Tyler. Nicotero has been part of The Walking Dead since before it was green-lit and would serve as SFX guru and a director of the series. Cudlitz is well known in TWDU for his portrayal of Abraham Ford. After Abraham’s death, Cudlitz would return to the franchise as a director. Tyler is a triple threat as she has directed TWD, Fear TWD, and TWD: World Beyond. She also starred in Fear TWD as Mickey.
