Walking Dead Rumor: Major Character Dies In Season 5

facebooktwitterreddit

We know that The Walking Dead isn’t afraid to kill off major characters.  After the death of Hershel in season 4, we now know that it can happen to anyone at almost any time.  Now, we are hearing rumors that another major character in the group could find himself exiting the show early on in season 5.

AT THIS POINT, THIS IS JUST A RUMOR

BUT THERE ARE SOME FACTS TO BACK THIS UP

Currently, it is being speculated that Glenn Rhee will be the next major character to bite the big one on The Walking Dead.  You may remember Glenn as one of the originals from season one when he met up in Rick in the city and helped him get to the camp where his wife and son were.

Here are the reasons behind why it is believed that Glenn will die in season 5:

  • Showrunner Scott Gimple said the following about rescuing Beth: “I will say Beth, in some state, is totally somewhere. I’ll say then, that that’s going to be answered next season. And I’m really excited to tell everybody the answer. It might be a little heartbreaking, it might be a little heartwarming, but it’s going to be interesting.” That statement leads up to believe that something horrible will happen during the rescue attempt.
  • A tweet from Alanna Masterson vaguely talking about losing someone.  To see the tweet, click HERE.
  • Stephen Yeun (who plays Glenn) left the set about a half hour after the ominous tweet from Masterson, making it even more strange.
  • During filming, the set was locked down today and it was made very difficult to get near the set for those who were not involved in filming the scene.  Normally, this is not so much the case with The Walking Dead.
  • The cast had a dinner together, which is usually only done after the death of a character on the show.  This has become almost a ritual for the show as a way to say goodbye.
  • They kind of foreshadowed this possible death.  While the scene in the tunnel with Glenn and Maggie was very heartwarming, Maggie burning her photo didn’t sit well with a lot of fans, including me.
