Norman Reedus Says Season 5 Has The Best Scripts So Far

The more I hear about Season 5 of The Walking Dead, the less patient I get for the season premiere in October.  One man who isn’t afraid to hype up the show a bit during the offseason is the man who plays Daryl Dixon, Norman Reedus.

Reedus doesn’t mind dropping insanely vague hints about what is coming up for viewers.  Heck, it keeps things interesting for those who are obsessed with the show and need every little detail.  We all love to speculate and daydream about what is going to happen, but sometimes a quote comes along that just makes your mind race.

Norman Reedus had this to say in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:

"“These scripts are the best scripts so far, and I’m really just excited to be back at it. There are a lot of characters right now, so there are a lot of really different personalities on set. And it’s super interesting, everyone’s really bringing it. It’s going great. It’s so dynamic because it’s so fast-paced and so complicated. It’s great to be back. Everybody on the whole team is so badass right now. It’s interesting, because a lot of personalities are clashing, or characters’ personalities are clashing. But yeah, we definitely have Rick back.”"

So, let’s take this one piece at a time.

First of all, he says the scripts are the best yet.  That’s great news for those who love the story driven aspects of The Walking Dead. The drama in between the action is an excellent way to get to know the characters.

Later on in the quote, he talks about characters clashing.   At a time when everyone needs to band together, it is kind of interesting to hear about possible conflict between some of the characters.  Since he mentioned Rick, we have to assume that he will go back to forming the “Rictatorship” that he had in previous seasons and that may not sit will with the other group leader, Abraham.

Finally, he says that everyone is badass.  They’re going to have to be to escape from Terminus and be able to get revenge on the Termites.  When things get crazy, people will do what they have to do in order to survive and I expect to see a lot of that in Season 5.

Let’s hope that Norman Reedus is right and Season 5 of The Walking Dead turns out to be “badass”.  I can’t wait to see what he cast and crew of the most popular zombie show on television has in store for us this October.
