If you’re not following Greg Nicotero on Instagram, you’re missing some cool stuff, but here are some of the best season 7 things from The Walking Dead special effects genius.

Greg Nicotero’s Instagram is an ecclectic mix of horror photos, behind the scenes pictures, his family, and some random hipness. Season 7 of The Walking Dead has just begun as far as actual airing for us fans and Greg has started posting some of his pictures from the filming.

He has some photos of Abe and Glenn in various stages of the prosthetics and make up for the premiere. There is also a great little video of a walker kill.

Let’s start with some behind the scenes pictures for things that were done in the premiere. Abraham and Glenn as they had some trouble with a man named Negan and a girl named Lucille.

When Negan drove Rick away from the line-up in the RV because he didn’t like the way Rick was looking at him and Rick jumped off the roof of the RV and grabbed the hanging walker on the bridge,  they used a green screen to accomplish some of that television magic. Greg Nicotero posted a picture of what he called the stretchy neck gag.

The absolute coolest thing that Greg posted recently was a short video of the walker kill in the episode with Carol and Morgan when they headed to The Kingdom. It was a very cool walker kill that you’ll certainly remember. Check out how the filming of it worked. It’s like a slow motion walker kill.

The walker looks like a mixture of a Picasso and a VanGogh or something in flat swirly walker beauty and the inside looks very Biology text book.
