The Walking Dead Escape Is Coming To Atlanta, Georgia

Do you love The Walking Dead and think that it would be a lot of fun to live in a world overrun by walkers? Well, that may not be something that could happen any time soon, but you can at least get to experience something similar to that.
The Walking Dead Escape is an obstacle course filled with walkers, obstructions, and surprises. It has been around for quite a while now, but the event is now coming to a place close to the heart of The Walking Dead: Atlanta, Georgia on May 31st of this year.
The date was definitely not chosen at random. The Walking Dead Escape coincides with Atlanta Comic Con. The Phillips Arena will host the event and tickets can be purchased at the official page linked here.
If you’re cheap and ambitious, you could volunteer your time to working the event. You get a free t-shirt, Fan Fest attendance, and a behind the scenes look at the experience.
The experience is a unique and memorable one. Your job is to make it through the course and reach the “decontamination zone”. Then, they will be assessed for level of infection.
Recently, Greg Nicotero partnered with The Walking Dead Escape. Nicotero’s company will supply the make up and special effects for the event. The company, called KNB EFX, belongs to Nicotero, who is the executive producer and director of The Walking Dead on AMC.
Here’s what Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman told EW about The Walking Dead Escape:
"“The Walking Dead Escape is something that’s been an absolute massive hit for us. It was immensely popular at New York Comic Con and San Diego Comic Con, and now we’re going wide with it. It’s a fun way to spend the afternoon, especially if you’re a big Walking Dead fan. It’s an experience unlike anywhere else. You can live the kind of things you see in the comics and show and go to a place and get chased by zombies. Or go to a place and watch your friends get chased by zombies. And nobody gets eaten, which is the best of both worlds!”"
Hopefully you can make it out to The Walking Dead Escape. It will be a huge amount of fun. If you can’t make it, it may come to a city near you in the near future if it continues to be successful.
