Robert Kirkman Says Season 5 Premiere Answers Many Questions
By Adam Carlson
We’ve been hearing quite a bit from the creator of The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman, lately. He spoke with the folks at Entertainment Weekly Radio about the premiere episode of season 5.
Here’s what Kirkman had to say:
"“There’s a lot going on with Terminus. In our premiere episode of season 5 we’re going to give a ton of answers of who the people of Terminus are, what they’re doing, why they’re doing it, what’s going on with them. And by the end of that episode you’re going to have a much better understanding of what’s going on with them and why they’re so important to the show. Oh, and Daryl dies.”"
Daryl Dixon in the weird room with the candles inside Terminus
That Kirkman. He’s quite a joker. He knows that there would be a lot of outrage if the crossbow carrying chick charmer were to not make it out of the season opener. But as for the rest of the quote, it’s cool to think that we’re going to learn a lot about the inner workings of terminus, what goes on there, and what that creepy room with the candles was all about.
Robert Kirkman continued in the interview, talking about the gang attempting to escape from the train car in Terminus:
"“They definitely get out of that train car. They do not spend the entirety of season 5 in that train car. It is through ingenuity and creativity and somewhat savageness that they are able to make their way out of that train car.”"
I’m glad to hear that they’re not all trapped in that car for the entirety of season 5. That would make for quite possibly some of the strangest episodes in The Walking Dead history. Instead, it sounds as though we’re going to get action and adventure on the escape from the Termites and possible revenge on them.
