Norman Reedus Wants Fans To Sponsor A Hero
By Adam Carlson
Norman Reedus has always been the type to stand up for a cause and give a middle finger to those who think otherwise. When he is passionate about a cause, he usually shares it with his legion of fans who take his words and recommendations very seriously. This time, he has chosen a cause that is near and dear to the hearts of many folks.
Recently, Norman Reedus took to his Instagram account to share a photo of him with several of the people at HeroBox.org. Here is the photo he shared:
In case you can’t read the text with it, here is what it says:
"It was a privilege to meet you guys today great cause!! Sponsor a hero!! Do it !! Www.herobox.org @heroboxorg"
If you’re not familiar with HeroBox.org, here’s what they have as their mission and story on their official website:
"Our MissionHeroBox is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports deployed, injured, aging and homeless veterans. Our mission is to provide the physical items and moral support our heroes need while away from home. Our StoryHeroBox evolved from a family’s simple effort of supporting their hero. HeroBox founder Ryan Housley learned during his brother’s deployment that many service members were not receiving any support from home. He also noticed that all deployed service members have specific needs depending on their gender, location and a variety of other factors. Most care packages are generic and don’t provide the items our heroes need.Ryan worked with brother to develop a web platform that would connect the American people with their heroes instantly online. Thus giving service members the ability to request specific items and providing Americans with a way to directly support the troops. HeroBox.org was launched in May 2008 to support this vision. HeroBox now has volunteers in all 50 states who help us support tens of thousands of deployed service members each year. In 2013, HeroBox expanded its programs to include injured, aging and homeless veterans."
There are a couple of different ways to support this great cause. You can either donate money to the organization for them to create care packages or you can make your own for the troops. There are also programs to support injured, aging or homeless veterans.
Thank you to Norman Reedus for supporting such a great cause and bringing more attention to this excellent organization. Hopefully, the rabid followers of Norman Reedus will listen to his great suggestion and help out those who need our support.
