Alanna Masterson Just Wanted To Be A Zombie On The Walking Dead

At first, I didn’t want to get too attached to Alanna Masterson’s character of Tara on The Walking Dead.  Since she was on the side against the survivors at the prison, I figured that she’d meet a tragic end during the midseason finale of season 4.  Instead, Tara has developed into an interesting and light-hearted character that helps break up the incredible tension on the hit AMC show.

But there’s a lot more to Alanna Masterson than just Tara on The Walking Dead.  She’s a former musician that would rather wear her sneakers than high heels and red carpets still mean being comfortable in her clothes.  She seems like a really down to earth woman who is enjoying her fans and success.

In a recent article from Filler Magazine, Alanna Masterson shed some light on what she’s like off the set and even lets a funny nugget about her co-star Steven Yeun slip.  Here are some highlights from that article:

WERE YOU ALREADY A FAN OF THE SERIES YOURSELF BEFORE AUDITIONING FOR THE ROLE OF TARA?

"“Yes. My brother Chris used to have Walking Dead parties on Sundays… and my girlfriends and I always joked about how much fun it would be to be a zombie on the show. They still ask if that’s a possibility for them.”"

Alanna Masterson hasn’t quite been a zombie on the show yet.  As a matter of fact, it’s quite the opposite.  She’s an unlikely survivor on a show where many characters don’t survive for very long.  However, her character already has a devoted following and looks to be developing with each episode that she’s in.  Speaking of that, it’s her second season now.

NOW THAT YOU’RE IN YOUR SECOND SEASON WITH THE SHOW, ARE YOU PRETTY CLOSE WITH THE REST OF THE CAST?

"“It’s a unique situation that we’re all living in Atlanta together. We all spend quite a bit of time together on and off the set. During Halloween, we all drove together to a haunted house…let me tell you, Steven screams like a girl.”"

It would be hilarious to hear Steven Yeun scream like a girl after everything that he’s seen while filming The Walking Dead.  At this point, you don’t think anything would scare these veterans of horror and gore.  Still, it’s great to remember that these celebrities are human after all.

Makes sure you check out the whole article on the Filler website.  In that article, she talks about her stance on fashion and even gets in a reference of Full House character Kimmy Gibbler.  It’s a great read.
