The Walking Dead midseason finale was intense, to say the least, and fans now have a few months to recoup as the show is going on hiatus — but when will it return?

AMC is putting it’s hit series The Walking Dead on hiatus for the winter which means fans are going to have some time to wind down and fully absorb what we saw happen in tonight’s episode of the series. It was a heartbreaking and absolutely crushing episode but we’re all going to have to wait a few months before the story continues.

That may not be a bad thing, as fans will all need a lot of time to fully comprehend what happened in the midseason finale. For those looking ahead to what is hopefully going to be brighter times, the midseason premiere date has been revealed. The Walking Dead will be returning to AMC on February 8, 2015 which is one week after the Super Bowl.

Despite how The Walking Dead has crushed the NFL on NBC this year, there is absolutely no way AMC is brash enough to put The Walking Dead up against Super Bowl XLIX. Instead, the series will return the Sunday after that to virtually no competition on any network — not that they’d stand a chance anyways.

Here’s the information you need to know so that you can be prepared to take in the action when the show returns.

Date: Sunday, February 8th
Start Time: 9:00pm ET
Episode: N/A
TV Channel: AMC
Online Stream: AMCTV, Amazon Instant Video
