Walking Dead Spinoff, ‘Cobalt’ Adds Two Cast Members
By Ernie Padaon
Robert Kirkman and company are working hard to get the Walking Dead spinoff series rolling. They are currently casting for the show and there was some chatter from the spoiling dead about the filming taking place in Pennsylvania. The show has filled a couple of casting spots today. Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey has been casted as part of the show.

The spinoff show is known as Cobalt and Deadline has the details on what it will be about:
"The untitled Walking Dead spinoff, aka Cobalt, takes place during the same zombie apocalypse depicted on The Walking Dead but in a different location. It revolves around a male divorced teacher and a female guidance counselor. WME-repped Dillane (Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince) plays the woman’s son, who has battled a drug problem. Aussie Debnam Carey, repped by UTA, plays the woman’s ambitious daughter."
Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey will play brother-sister in Cobalt. It sounds like the show is still looking for actors to play the main characters of the male divorced teacher and the female guidance counselor. The location that the story will take place also is unknown. They could film the show in Pennsylvania as previously discussed, but that still has not been determined. It will be interesting to see if any of the characters on the Walking Dead show will make an appearance on Cobalt. If the two stories are taking place in the same time era and fairly close in location, the possibilities are there.
Let’s get a little background on these actors.
From IMDB on Frank Dillane:
"Frank Dillane was born in London (England) on April 21, 1991. He made his film debut as Tom Riddle Jr in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” in 2009 before studying during three years at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Having graduated in 2013, he is now living in London. He will feature in Ron Howard’s upcoming film “Heart Of The Sea” to be released in 2015."
Here is the bio on Alycia Debnam Carey from IMDB:
"Alycia Debnam Carey is an actress, known for Into the Storm (2014), The Devil’s Hand(2014) and At the Tattooist (2010)."
I can’t wait to see this thing kick off. We still have to see who the show casts for the main characters of the show.
