The Walking Dead Is The 3rd Most Mentioned Show On Facebook

While The Walking Dead has one of the biggest communities on both Facebook and Twitter, there are a couple shows that seem to get people talking more than the hit AMC show.

Sometimes, it’s hard to find out what some of the biggest things on social media are, but Facebook decided to show off their “best of” lists.  On Facebook’s own Year In Review, they listed the most talked about shows on their own website.  Here is the list:

Game of Thrones

2. Orange is the New Black

3. The Walking Dead

4. The Big Bang Theory

5. Downton Abbey

6. American Horror Story

7. Sons of Anarchy

8. True Detective

9. How I Met Your Mother

10. Scandal

Considering the popularity of Game of Thrones, it isn’t a real surprise that they beat out The Walking Dead.  But the real surprise here is the Netflix original series Orange is the New Black taking the second place spot.

Orange is the New Black is a show based in a women’s correctional institution that is definitely not appropriate for all ages.  It has violence, nudity, and other shocking moments, but shouldn’t have as wide of appeal as The Walking Dead since it was a Netflix exclusive.  Despite that, it was able to overtake the The Walking Dead as the second most talked about show on Facebook.

But third place isn’t too bad for The Walking Dead.  Considering the show is in their fifth season, it’s good that people are still talking about it.  Many shows lose viewership at that point in their television runs, but The Walking Dead continues to gain popularity and get people talking.

Hopefully next year The Walking Dead can take over that #1 spot.
