The 2015 People’s Choice Awards were held on Wednesday, January 7th.  The Walking Dead was nominated in three categories at the prestigious event, but failed to bring home an award.

Things were looking good for The Walking Dead at the People’s Choice Awards.  For an award that is based on fan voting, you’d assume that the hit AMC show should be able to easily dominate some of the competition that they were up against.  Instead, they fell short in each nominated category.

Here were the three categories The Walking Dead was nominated in and who won the award:

Favorite TV Show

  • Winner: The Big Bang Theory

Favorite Cable Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show

  • Winner: Outlander

Favorite TV Character We Miss Most (Hershel)

  • Winner: Dr. Cristina Yang, Grey’s Anatomy

Personally, I’ve never seen the television show Grey’s Anatomy.  Heck, before the People’s Choice Awards, I had never even heard of Outlander.  And I know that I miss Hershel Greene every time I watch The Walking Dead.

Still, I have to congratulate The Big Bang Theory, Outlander, and Grey’s Anatomy on their wins.  Hopefully, fans of The Walking Dead will get out and vote more at next year’s People’s Choice Awards and get it some awards that it rightfully deserves.

Next year, Undead Walking will make sure to remind viewers of The Walking Dead to vote early and often.  Hopefully, that will help to push The Walking Dead into the winners circle.  Until then, we can all just watch the episodes and enjoy the show that we love so much.
