The Walking Dead Is A National Television Awards Finalist

It was recently announced that The Walking Dead has been named a finalist for an award at the National Television Awards.

The NTAs are the most popular awards show in Britain, and is based on fan voting, much like the People’s Choice Awards here in the United States.  The 20th annual National Television Awards show will be held at the O2 Arena in London, England on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 and will be hosted by Dermot O’Leary.

Here is the full list of finalists for the Multichannel Television Show award:

Celebrity Juice

  • Celebrity Juice is a comedy-based panel game show hosted and written by the charismatic Keith Lemon.  The show approaches pop culture moments with humor that pushes the envelope, but is unique and fun.  Celebrity Juice completed its 12th series in December.

Game of Thrones

  • Game of Thrones is an HBO show that has a massive fan following.  It is based on the series of novels written by George R. R. Martin called “A Song of Fire and Ice”.  It is set in a fantasy world with dragons and magic and had its fourth season come to a close in June of 2014.

Geordie Shore

  • Geordie Shore is the British spinoff of Jersey Shore.  It has ran for 9 series on MTV and is based on the Tyneside are of northeast England.  “Geordie” is a slang term for the region where the show is set and the dialect given to the inhabitants.

The Walking Dead

  • The Walking Dead is shown on AMC in the United States but is shown on Fox in England.  The show is currently enjoying their season 5 midseason break.  The hit zombie show is based on the comic book series created by Robert Kirkman.
