Fear The Walking Dead Will Probably Tie Into The Walking Dead, Here’s Why
By Josh Hill
Fear The Walking Dead is what will keep fans sane in this period of time before The Walking Dead returns in the fall, but we can probably expect the series to crossover into one another.
The Walking Dead won’t be coming back until the fall of this year, which means we all have to wait until the fall to catch new episodes of the series. But we don’t have to wait all that long for new episodes set in The Walking Dead universe, as Fear The Walking Dead will be coming this summer to alleviate our pain.

It’s looking like a series that will pack a serious punch in the chronology of the show, as it’s set in the time leading up to the event that caused the zombie apocalypse that The Walking Dead is dealing with.
And that’s the thing — it’s a series that is leading into The Walking Dead. It’s impossible to say that this isn’t a spinoff or a series that is tying into The Walking Dead when it so clearly is. All this while, it’s been touted as a companion series and not a spinoff when it’s very apparent that the two series are going to tie into one another.
It’s more than just the fact that the show is leading into the events of The Walking Dead, it’s the fact that there will be nods to the current series even if it’s done in a subtle way. Just look at what Better Call Saul has been able to do, as it exists all on it’s own while still tipping it’s hat to Breaking Bad.
That’s what we will see a lot of in Fear The WALking Dead — and if we don’t, it’ll be out of stubbornness. The series doesn’t need to ride the coattails of The Walking Dead but it also doesn’t have to totally ignore it either.
There will be subtle crossover by mere default, and that’s why this is more than just a ‘companion series’ and is something we’ll all need to be glued to all summer long.
