The Walking Dead Actor Cast In Massive NBC Crossover

The Walking Dead has churned out more than a few fine actors, and one of the former cast members has landed a big role in a massive NBC crossover.

It has been a rough ride for a lot of actors on The Walking Dead — as mostly all of them have been killed off over the course of the five season on the air. Just this season we lost major characters like Bob, Beth, Tyreese and Noah and next season could claim even more lives.

But for the actors who are no longer on The Walking Dead, life isn’t so rough. Most of the actors who leave the show go on to find work right away, whether it’s Emily Kinney with her signing career or Jesse Tyler Williams landing a cole on CSI: Cyber.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, former Walking Dead actor Dallas Roberts will be involved in the massive crossover event involving Law & Order: SVU, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD.

"Roberts will portray Greg Yates, a charismatic doctor who becomes the prime suspect in a string of brutal rape/murders. The crossover episodes are slated to air on April 28 and 29."

All of those shows are Dick Wolf productions, a guy that Robert Kirkman is on his way to becoming, and NBC has ties to The Walking Dead.

Kirkman isn’t going to plaster the world with a million Walking Dead spinoffs like Wolf did with Law & Order, but he already has three different Walking Dead projects. There’s the original series, the “companion series” and then the comic books. NBC could have gotten involved in all of this but they passed on the series because of the gore and violence.

Ironically, NBC is now giving more and more support to it’s gruesome but high quality Hannibal.

It may suck to get killed of The Walking Dead, but at least the actors who leave the show have a life beyond just their characters on the series.
