‘Silent Hills’ May Not Be Dead Yet For Norman Reedus

facebooktwitterreddit

With the news that Silent Hills was cancelled, many fans were upset all around cyberspace.  Petitions were created to get the game back into production, but it appeared as though the project (which features a character with the likeness of Norman Reedus) was going to be dead.

Well, that might not be the case.

According to they guys on The Know courtesy of Rooster Teeth, there is a major rumor going around that Microsoft (the company that is well-known for the Xbox line of home gaming consoles) has been in negotiations with Konami to purchase the rights to the Silent Hills video game.

Here is the video of the gentlemen from The Know dropping that rumor on us:

The folks over at IGN reached out to both Microsoft and Konami in hopes of finding out more about this rumor, but sadly had to give fans this message when their search ended up hitting a brick wall:

"“We reached out for clarification and were told “Microsoft does not comment on rumor or speculation.” We have also reached out to Konami and will update you when we know more.”"

If this rumor were to be reality, that would mean that Silent Hills would become an exclusive for Microsoft.  That would explain the awkward timing on the PT removal from the Sony PS4, but it could also be just a coincidence as well.

What do you guys think?  Do you think Silent Hills will be coming to the Xbox One or do you think this is just a hopeful rumor to keep the franchise alive?

Let me know what you guys think in the comments below.

**UPDATE 6/2/15**

Since this posting, Microsoft has denied these rumors.
