Many fans felt the start of Fear the Walking Dead was a bit slow, but according to Lorenzo Henrie, episode 2 will include a ton more action and new stories. Popsugar interviewed Lorenzo after episode 1 of Fear and got some great information from the star who plays Chris, Travis’ son, on the new companion series. Watch his interview here.

Lorenzo has obviously been to my fantasy Walking Dead School of  Vaguery and Misdirection: “Boom. Can’t say anything yet!” But Lorenzo did a great job of telling us things that did give us some cool information about his character and the show and the acting process.

It should feel different.

When talking about how the show seems different, Lorenzo said, “It should feel different.” That’s even the reason he doesn’t watch The Walking Dead still. “I don’t want to ruin it. I don’t want to know that world.”

I don’t want to ruin it. I don’t want to know that world.

He doesn’t avoid the show because he thinks he won’t like it, but because, “as an actor, you draw from images that you see, and those are stuck in your head and it’s in your memory. I didn’t want to, on the day I work on the show, to know the other world.”

He used the words pure and fresh to describe how he wanted his experience to be. I like those words because they parallel the story. The walkers and the outbreak are fresh and the characters are pure going into the end of the world.

Describing his character, Chris, Lorenzo says he is a “rebellious kid with a cause.” Lorenzo realizes that he is a kid who is distressed over losing the father figure in his daily life, but he is a teenager and still needs to listen to his parents and still needs guidance.

In his best vaguery answer that still gives us excitement for episode 2, despite its vaguery and the fact that the answer could apply to everything Walking Dead at any time, was that we are going to see a ton more action in episode 2, along with more storylines. We’ll start to see if they are going to separate or stay together. We’ll see what they are like now, and we’ll see if, when, and how they are going to change.
