Welcome to the very first edition of the Fear the Walking Dead: Reflections Video Podcast! Today we’re going to discuss the first episode’s show stealer, fan reception, and the series brand name. What does the inclusion of ‘The Walking Dead’ title mean in terms of expectations towards the pilot? You’ll learn what the show’s breakout star Frank Dillane, who plays Nick, has in common with David Morrissey and Andrew Lincoln. Let’s start the show!
Fear the Walking Dead: Future
Where does the show go from here? Will we partake in flashbacks to learn more about Gloria? Will the show throw a wrench into the formula and have some or all of the events Nick’s shown us not be real? It’s a possibility with his unreliable protagonist status that we’re not seeing the pure truth. Will Fear the Walking Dead build on the foundations set by this family or will they drop character after character in preparation for Season 2?
There’s the possibility only one of these characters will survive the outbreak. Kim Dickens’ character barely avoided getting bitten by a walker at the end of the first episode after all. We might not see a replay of the original Walking Dead with the majority of opening cast members surviving. It could just be Nick that remains at the end of the first season. It appears the show is investing most heavily in his character followed by his mother and live in father figure. The sister will likely be the first to go, perhaps Nick is unable to save her in some situation. There’s also the question of Tobias who appeared to be a minor character in the debut episode with potential to develop.
