I look forward to that Fear the Walking Dead momentary intro every time the show comes on. Anyone else feel the same way?

“Weak.” That’s what Daniel described Travis on last week’s episode. Earlier in the episode Travis criticized Daniel for teaching his son survival skills. His next door neighbor was about to be mauled because of Travis’ passiveness. He lacks the will to do what needs to be done. Travis himself was practically a walker-in-training because of his lack of decisive action.

Then at the end of last’s week’s episode Travis utters, “The calvary’s arrived.” No need to worry now right? His indecisiveness, constant restraint, and dependence on others will ultimately hurt the family. At some point, dirty work has to be done. Walkers are going to keep arriving whether on the road or at home, time to accept them for what they are. As Nick told Travis, “I just told her the truth.” Time to accept reality.

Speaking of Nick, a controversial opinion… He was right. Madison shouldn’t have given away his medication to a stranger. Nick needs it to function. It’s a fact now. Regardless of Madison’s original stance on his drug use, it’s happened already. His body will go into another seizure without it. There’s no time to be generous in the apocalypse. It’s everyone for themselves. That medication could have sustained him for a few more days. He should be top priority, not a family who’s staying behind in their house.

Meaghan Oppenheimer wrote tonight’s Fear the Walking Dead episode, her first of the season. Oppenheimer previously wrote the screenplay to ‘We Are Your Friends’ along with Max Joseph. The film released this passed August and starred Zac Efron.

Kari Skogland is tonight’s director, and will direct next week’s Fear the Walking Dead episode as well. Skogland previously directed episodes of La Femme Nikita , Boardwalk Empire, Vikings and many others.
