Perhaps a more apt title would be “Who did NOT die in The Walking Dead’s episode ‘Thank You'”. Yes, Glenn is alive! At least for now. We can finally put all our questions, theories, and frustrations to rest.  How nice to be able to celebrate a survivor in death article!

Yet, once again, The Walking Dead leaves behind a trail of losses in season 6 episode 7 “Heads Up”.  And it’s time to explore exactly what  kind of losses they are.

Walkers

Per usual fashion, we had our share of walkers taking their final hit to the brain.  Glenn stabs the walkers surrounding him under the dumpster.  Tara fires her gun at the undead attempting to feast on Spencer (back to those two in a “bit”).  But an actual disheartening walker death was Glenn having to put down walker David with his final words to his beloved Betsy lying on the ground beside him.

Close calls

Did I mention Spencer being surrounded by walkers?? That’s right, Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome traverses the wall mid-air, shimmying down a cable in hopes of reaching a car he can use to draw walkers away from Alexandria.  Not surprisingly, walkers grab at him, the grappling hook slips, and he falls to the ground.  Were it not for Tara putting her own life at risk to cross the wall and fire at the walkers, Spencer may not have made it back to the safety of the line Rick, Tobin, and Morgan use to pull him back over the wall.

Speaking of close calls, Enid did point a gun in Glenn’s face. But it did not take Glenn long to disarm her.  Pfft! That was nothing compared to his close call at the dumpster trying to pull himself to safety.

Finally, there are all kinds of close calls waiting to happen with Ron hoisting a loaded gun.  This cannot be good! Only time will tell how this dangerous impulsivity plays out.

The Wall

It’s official. Security has been breached. The watch tower comes tumbling down, knocking out a portion of the wall.  And it may only take one opening to bring down the function of the entire fortress.  This may in fact be our biggest loss of the episode. And just when we thought we were going to see that heartfelt Glenn and Maggie reunion!!

Final count: Zero humans

But don’t let your guard down, the proverbial fecal matter has clearly hit the fan! Until The Walking Dead’s mid-season finale next week . . .
