AMC’s hit zombie survival horror show The Walking Dead was not on the list on nominees released today for the 2015 Golden Globes awards.

It seems like every year fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead expect to see their favorite zombie survival drama nominated for some awards from the big shows. However, fans have always been let down by the lack of recognition for the television juggernaut.

This year, The Walking Dead has zero nominations. Fear The Walking Dead has zero nominations.

Sadly, it’s gotten to the point with these awards shows that they seem to be ignoring the show on purpose. While other, much less popular programs get nominated for awards and a ratings juggernaut like The Walking Dead and a record-breaking debut show like Fear The Walking Dead take a back seat when it comes time to hand out the hardware.

Here is a list of the categories where AMC’s zombie shows were snubbed:

  • Best Drama Series
  • Best Drama Actor
  • Best Drama Actress
  • Best TV Supporting Actor
  • Best TV Supporting Actress

Perhaps the most surprising omission from the Golden Globes nominees is that Melissa McBride is once again ignored for her work at Carol Peletier on The Walking Dead. She consistently puts forth great performances that are ignored by critics and awards programs, but always seem to delight fans of the show.

Luckily, fans of AMC’s zombie dramas don’t need awards to know how good the shows are. If the shows were bad, and the acting was bad, people would stop tuning in to watch. The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead don’t need validation from stuffy suits in an office to feel good about the product that they put out for fans, but I do feel bad for the great actors and actresses as well as the hard-working crew of the show who deserve to be recognized for their hard work on the show.
