The battle in differing philosophies between Carol Peletier and Morgan Jones is far from over on AMC’s zombie survival drama The Walking Dead.

With all the other major things left hanging for the midseason finale of The Walking Dead, it’s easy to overlook the conflict between Carol Peletier and Morgan Jones. The two fought in the basement of a house in Alexandria, with Morgan knocking Carol out before he was caught from behind and knocked out as well.

When these two characters come to consciousness, odds are that they will be confused, but also be very angry with each other about what is going on in the community because of their actions.

The Walking Dead’s showrunner Scott M. Gimple recently spoke with Variety about what is going on with Carol and Morgan and whether or not the confrontation between the two in the midseason finale will bring their issues to an end:

"“The confrontation that starts in that basement does continue through the season and will come to a head. We’ll see the relationship changing and evolving and growing in cool and interesting ways.”"

It will be fun to watch how these two characters will work out their issues. Since both have very different ideas of human life’s value and handle situations in near exact opposite ways, it will be hard for the characters to come to a conclusion that both will accept.

As for the fight in the basement which happened during The Walking Dead’s midseason finale, Gimple says that Carol would have had no problem killing Morgan to take out that member of The Wolves.

"“She had no problem killing Lizzie. She would have killed Morgan in that moment. I think that’s why she was so angry and I think that’s why she was so scared. She didn’t want to. But she knew that she had to and she knew that she would.”"

Morgan and Carol are two of the most interesting and best developed characters on The Walking Dead. Seeing them clash will be great television, as Lennie James and Melissa McBride are both wonderful at bringing their characters to life on the small screen.

You can see more of Morgan, Carol, and the rest of the characters on AMC’s The Walking Dead when the show returns from its midseason break on February 14, 2016.
