The Walking Dead: A DIY matching game
By Susie Graham
Do you need something fun to do during walker withdrawals or during the preshow part of a The Walking Dead viewing party? Make your own The Walking Dead matching game!
There are quite a few board games and video games available for fans of The Walking Dead. There are also trivia apps and even trivia calendars available.
For those who like to create their own games, there are easy ways to create trivia games yourself or other easy games. On Twitter, we play fill in the blanks, fill in missing letters à la Wheel of Fortune, scrambled words, word searches, picture clues and other creative games.
Something that you could make for your friends and family that would be very easy is a matching game. It could be as simple or as challenging and as basic or as colorful as you want to make it. All you need is paper and either pen, marker or a printer.
Decide the matches and the number of cards. 24 is a good number with 12 matches or up to 48 or 50. The matches can be words or pictures. Words to words. Words to pictures. Pictures to pictures or pictures to words.

The easiest would be to make exact matches. For example, match Rick Grimes with Rick Grimes. Or a picture of Rick with an exact picture of Rick. A step up would be to match a picture of Rick with the word Rick Grimes or a different picture of Rick. Another option would be matching character names with actor names.
You can even laminate the cards and put TWD or a generic The Walking Dead image or logo or walkers on the back side of the cards. If you’re matching exact pictures, you could use walkers as part of the game itself.
Game play is easy. Lay the cards out face down. Choose 2 cards on your turn. If they match, you keep the cards and go again. If they do not match, you turn them back over and play goes to the next person. At the end, the person with the most cards is the winner.
