Lauren Cohan & Jeffrey Dean Morgan cast in Batman v Superman

Two stars from AMC’s The Walking Dead, Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. have roles in the upcoming superhero flick Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

While The Walking Dead continues to be one of the most watched shows on television, there is no questioning the power of superhero movies at the box office. However, if you go to watch Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice when it premieres on March 25, 2016, you might see some familiar faces.

Firstly, Lauren Cohan (who plays Maggie Greene on The Walking Dead) will be playing the role of Martha Wayne according to Entertainment Weekly. Martha is the mother of Bruce Wayne and wife of Dr. Thomas Wayne. The role will not be a major one, as Batman loses his parents at an early age.

She has several great projects coming out, most notably a big role in the horror flick The Boy (in theatres now) and the upcoming Tupac biopic All Eyez on Me, which is still in the casting phase. The busy Lauren Cohan is one of the stars of The Walking Dead who can’t be missed because of the high-profile gigs that she has landed.

In regards to Dr. Thomas Wayne, it was more recently announced on IGN.com that the role of Bruce’s father in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice would go to Supernatural and The Watchmen star Jeffrey Dean Morgan. While fans haven’t gotten to see Morgan on AMC’s The Walking Dead yet, they will get that opportunity in the second half of season 6 when the character of Negan is introduced.

Batman and Bruce Wayne will played by Ben Affleck and Superman will be portrayed by Henry Cavill. Other big stars in the film include Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Lawrence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot. Here is the plot of the film according to “Mankind faces a new threat as Batman embarks on a personal vendetta against Superman”.

Both Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are solid additions to the superhero film and their appearances in the film alone could help Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice reach a new audience when it hits theatres on March 25, 2016.
