Alycia Debnam-Carey of AMC’s record-breaking zombie companion series Fear The Walking Dead recently spoke about her other hit show, The 100.

Alycia Debnam Carey is one of the hottest actresses on television. Aside from her role as Alicia Clark on AMC’s record-breaking companion series Fear The Walking Dead, she is also a bit of an icon for her role as Lexa on the CW series The 100.

If you aren’t familiar with The 100, it’s one heck of a story. The show takes place many years after a nuclear war devastated Earth, and people are divided up among 12 space stations. The stations came together to form one large group called “Ark” and sent 100 juveniles to Earth to habitate, but they realize that things won’t be that simple, as they aren’t the only survivors there.

The cast of young actors on The 100 is highlighted by Fear The Walking Dead‘s Alycia Debnam-Carey, who plays the role of Lexa. Being part of two massively popular shows has done wonders for her career, and made her one of the most recognizable young actresses today.

Recently, Debnam-Carey spoke with Collider about the difference between Fear The Walking Dead and The 100.

"“It’s a nice balance to have because they’re so, so different. Alicia is a lot closer to a regular person, so it’s nice to have a little bit more of a fluid stream of consciousness about it. She’s a complex individual who’s fighting her own battles, but it was very different having to go from Lexa to evaluating what a normal teenager is.”"

Another difference between Lexa and Alicia is their sexual orientation. In today’s society, there aren’t a lot of roles for homosexual characters on television. The Walking Dead is one of the few shows on TV that has employed multiple gay characters, such as Aaron, Eric, and Tara, but Debnam-Carey’s character on The 100 has become a bit of an icon to the LGBT community.

However, the story of how she found out that she was getting recognized for that role on The 100 is quite interesting.

"“I was on Instagram or something and I checked my tagged photos, and I realized that suddenly they were all LGBT artwork. I was like, “Oh, my god!” I had no idea. It was the first time I realized I was a figure for that community. What an honor, how flattering that is to bring a character to life that people find their self-expression in and a safety with. It’s new for our society, as well. It’s one of the first shows that really has two characters in the cast that are gender and sexually fluid and embraces that. There are no labels. It’s a wonderful thing to be a part of. I’m all for it.”"

You can watch Alycia Debnam-Carey in Fear The Walking Dead when it returns for its second season on AMC beginning April 10, 2016 as well as catch season one on Hulu or DVD/Blu-Ray. The 100 can be seen Thursday nights on The CW.
