Two stars of AMC’s hit zombie survival drama The Walking Dead will be appearing on the Hulu comedy The Mindy Project’s fourth season in upcoming episodes.

The Walking Dead is a very serious show. Any rare moments of humor are sandwiched between intense scenes of violence, gore and drama. While that is great for viewers, the cast of the show needs to find some way to let out their sillies that get stored up during filming.

Thanks to an article from Entertainment Weekly, it was learned that Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie Greene on The Walking Dead as well as starred in the recent movie The Boy, will be joining the cast of The Mindy Project for the Hulu show’s fourth season.

Cohan will be part of the series for two episodes, where her character is described as “a cool, stylish woman who Morgan (Ike Barinholtz) and Jody (Garret Dillahunt) get in a fight over.” Hopefully, she will get to flex some of her comedic muscles in the episodes and not have to be as serious as when she’s on The Walking Dead.

But she won’t be the only one from AMC’s zombie show to join star Mindy Kaling on The Mindy Project. Entertainment Weekly also dropped the news that Ross Marquand will be on the show as well. Marquand plays the role of Aaron on The Walking Dead and is known for his amazing impressions and comedy history, so he should be a standout on the show.

Recently, Ross Marquand talked about letting his hair down and re-entering comedy television:

"“I’ve been a fan of Mindy and Ike [Barinholtz] for a long time, and just that whole show,” says Marquand. “I was a bit nervous to get back in the comedy scene because it had been a while for me. And when I got there they were so welcoming and said, ‘We are huge fans of The Walking Dead and we were on Talking Dead a few times ourselves so we can’t wait to see what the new season brings.”"

Having both Lauren Cohan and Ross Marquand on the show could be a real feather in the cap for The Mindy Project, as The Walking Dead has an immensely loyal following and may tune in to see their favorite survivors in a comedy environment. Marquand will also appear in a future episode of the Hulu program Deadbeat‘s third season.

As of this writing, there is no official date for The Mindy Project or Deadbeat‘s new seasons to start. However, fans of Lauren Cohan and Ross Marquand won’t want to miss the return of The Walking Dead for their season 6 midseason premiere on February 14, 2016.
