The Walking Dead: Michonne gets Telltale release date

The official release date for The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries has been announced, and it is much sooner than many fans expected it to be.

It feels like forever since fans of The Walking Dead have gotten a new game from the great folks at Telltale Games. With the company focusing on other games in their series, such as Game of Thrones, Minecraft, Borderlands, and more, putting out a game based on the world of the undead as been hard to come by.

While a third season of The Walking Dead: A Telltale Game is in the works, fans of the game style learned that they were in for a treat when the game publisher and developer announced The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries.

When the game was announced, there was no released date attached to the project. However, the street date of the miniseries was recently announced, and it was a lot sooner than many fans may have expected.

Here is an excerpt from Tech Times describing the dates and available platforms:

"“The first episode of The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries titled “In Too Deep” will first be available for PS3 and PS4 via the PlayStation Network, for Xbox One and Xbox 360 via the Xbox Games Store, as well as for PC and Mac from the Telltale Online Store and Steam on Tuesday, Feb 23. The episode will then be released for iOS and Android via the App Store, Google Play and Amazon App Store starting on Feb. 25.”"

Of course, it goes without question that the game will feature one of the most popular characters from The Walking Dead‘s universe: Michonne. It will explain where the sword swinging survivor disappeared to during her absence from issue #126 and #139 of the comic book series.

Episode 1, titled “In Too Deep” has the following description according to the Telltale Games website:

"“Michonne joins Pete and his crew on the sailing ship The Companion as they cruise the coast for survivors and supplies. When a desperate signal for help draws them to a scene of horrific massacre, Michonne and the crew are lead further to the floating survivors’ colony of Monroe, which may just be harboring the person responsible for the carnage.”"

The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries will have a price point of $14.99 for all three episodes upon initial release. While it isn’t a new story in the Clementine’s tale, this new game should be enough to satisfy even the hungriest of walker enthusiasts when it is released on February 23, 2016.
