The Walking Dead: Who is a better leader: Deanna or Gregory?
By Adam Carlson
Both The Hilltop and Alexandria are prospering communities but run in different ways on The Walking Dead. Who would you want leading you: Deanna or Gregory?
A group in the zombie apocalypse is only as good as their leader. For a while, Rick tried being in the background or trying to work through a democracy, but it eventually ended up where the former police officer took charge and made the tough decisions.
Now, there are several different settlements on The Walking Dead. Right now, we know about Alexandria, The Hilltop, and The Saviors. Each seems to have a distinctly different way to keeping themselves safe and different idea on how to prepare for the future.

Which brings up a good question: what kind of leader would you want to take care of your people in the zombie apocalypse? Would you want a tough character like Gregory, a compassionate leader such as Deanna, a dictator like The Governor, or a different type in charge of your livelihood?
Luckily, we at Undead Walking have some great fans that ask us some wonderful questions about the show that get our minds racing. Angel Seppanen on Facebook asked us the following question:
“Who would you rather have lead your group of survivors: Deanna or Gregory?”
We passed this question along to Su Castillo, Timothy Michael, and Michael Tiberi of TheStream.tv‘s The Walking Dead After Show, who break down each episode of AMC’s hit zombie show with their own unique blend of charisma and attitude. Here is the show if you missed it on Sunday night:
All three hosts decided that they’d rather have Deanna in charge of their future. Despite her lack of defenses and failure to accumulate supplies for the future, they see her blueprints for the future and personal touch as great assets for building a successful community.
While everyone on TheStream.tv’s The Walking Dead After Show said they’d rather live under Deanna’s rule, there is a distinct possibility that Gregory might be the better leader of the two. He’s stern with his people, rations his resources well, had stockpiled more than enough supplies to survive, as well as built a sustainable food and shelter source in their community. The fact that he’s difficult to work with is a plus as well, because even though it is great for an authority figure to be friendly, they also need to be able to put their foot down even if it won’t be a well liked decision, which seemed like something Deanna really struggled with in Alexandria when it came to situations like Pete Anderson’s abuse of his family.
