Will The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead ever overlap?

The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead are two of the most popular shows on television, but will the two AMC juggernauts ever overlap in the future?

AMC has two of the most popular shows on television with their massive zombie survival horror dramas. While The Walking Dead is in its sixth season, Fear The Walking Dead is only headed into its second. But right now, the universe they both exist in is the only thing they have in common.

The two shows offer different locations, different characters, and different situations, but there might be a time in the future that the AMC juggernauts find a way to come together to create some sort of link between the programs.

Mike Tomperi on Twitter asked us the following question:

“Do you think that we will ever see a series link between TWD and FTWD?”

That question has been passed along to Su Castillo, Timothy Michael, and Michael Tiberi of The Walking Dead After Show on TheStream.tv to get their opinion on if they think the two shows will have some sort of crossover or even if they think it might be a good idea.

Here is the video of TheStream.tv’s The Walking Dead After Show discussing that very question:

Michael Tiberi says he doesn’t think it will happen based on the time the shows are set and the locations where the programs are taking place. He finds it hard to justify a cross-country tie between Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead considering the time it would take to travel that distance and how dangerous it would be.

Timothy Michael thinks that a tie-in would be cool, but just doesn’t see how it could work out. However, Su Castillo fails to eliminate the possibility of there being some kind of crossover, no matter what it might be, considering how creative the forces behind the two shows are.

While it is very unlikely that there will ever be a direct link between The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead, there is always a chance it could happen. The biggest possibility for a link would involve someone from the CDC to tie with Atlanta or Morales making his way to California. Still, creating a way to include a situation like this without making it seem like a cheap tie-in might be difficult, even for the creative folks at AMC.
