The Walking Dead season 6 finale vs WWE Wrestlemania
By Adam Carlson
With The Walking Dead’s season 6 finale going up against WWE’s major wrestling show Wrestlemania, some viewers will have a tough choice on April 3, 2016.
To many fans, the season finale of The Walking Dead is the biggest day of the year. Something big always happens during that episode, and that likely isn’t going to change for last installment of season 6 when it airs on April 3, 2016. But it appears as though AMC’s zombie survival drama is set to face some stiff competition that night.
There is another major event being held that day. In fact, it is one of the biggest events in the world. WWE’s Wrestlemania 32 will be airing at the same time on Pay Per View and the WWE Network and could take some viewers away from the big debut of Negan.
Wrestlemania is set to feature some of the biggest stars in sports entertainment, including Brock Lesnar, Triple H, A.J. Styles, Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns and many, many others. It is the biggest night for professional wrestling of the year, and going toe-to-toe with The Walking Dead will be great competition.
While the two programs airing at the same time could have a big impact on the live viewing numbers, odds are that when replays and DVR views are accounted for that The Walking Dead won’t lose any viewers. In fact, here at Undead Walking, we’re expecting the season 6 finale to fetch some of the biggest numbers in the show’s history.
Personally, I can’t wait to watch the season 6 finale of The Walking Dead. Even though I’m a wrestling fan, I’ll be waiting and watching Wrestlemania 32 on the WWE Network after The Walking Dead and Talking Dead air on AMC. I’ll shut off my phone and stay off the internet as to not read spoilers from Wrestlemania and just enjoy my favorite zombie slaying survivors before moving on to the world of the WWE.
