[Spoiler Alert: Please note that this post addresses events that occurred in episode 15 of The Walking Dead, ‘East’.]

We finally obtained resolution to that whole protein bar mystery! Unfortunately, many story lines from tonight’s The Walking Dead episode number 15 did not get the closure we were seeking.  Let’s take a look at losses encountered in episode ‘East’.

Wipeout

Carol goes into stealth mode and sneaks out of Alexandria in the middle of the night right under Sasha’s watch.  She leaves a note behind for Tobin explaining her departure.

She is not long gone before encountering a truckload of Saviors who fire at her car bringing her to a stop. Jiro speaks for the group and refers to one of the other men as Miles.

Carol is outnumbered but most certainly not outsmarted.  She has packed more than a little something extra up her sleeve.

She swiftly guns down the Saviors, killing two immediately. The driver approaches Carol who swiftly impales him with one of the spikes from her car. She then wins a showdown with Jiro who has been hiding behind the Saviors’ truck.  Carol disappears from the screen.

Finally, the fifth Savior emerges from the truck looking for Carol.  We do not see Carol, but we see the man walk into the adjacent field, his gunshot wound visible from his back.

Fates Unknown

Carol‘s location goes unknown for the rest of the episode.  Rick and Morgan attempt to track her and Morgan suggests blood loss from what he sees on the trail.  But could this be from the wounded Savior walking in the same direction?

Daryl and Rosita insist on going after Dwight to avenge Denise’s death.  Glenn and Michonne disagree and plan to return to Alexandria.  All of their plans are foiled when Dwight and crew capture Glenn and Michonne.  As Daryl and Rosita find them and attempt a rescue, Dwight comes up behind them and shoots Daryl.  Dwight mutters to Daryl that he will be alright, but we as viewers cannot be so sure.  Have we ever been able to trust Dwight?

Maggie prepares for fight mode by having Enid give her a short, carefree hairstyle.  Just as Maggie is admiring her new do, she screams out in pain.  The pain appears to be coming from her abdominal region and we fear that she may be losing the baby. The pain appears to intensify.  While I hesitate to ponder a zombie baby, is it conceivable that she may have already miscarried and the baby has turned?

More from Undead Walking

I would much rather presume Yvette Nicole Brown’s theory from

Talking Dead

— a case of bad pickles!  But somehow that does not seem plausible for our very dangerous apocalyptic world.

So, there you have it.  Several Saviors perished for sure and several of our favorite character’s fates are unknown.

Final count:  4 Saviors

We will reconvene next week for The Walking Dead season 6 finale and what appears to be a very dangerous night for our survivors.  Until then please share your thoughts on the fates of Carol, Daryl, and Maggie in the Comments section.  The 90 minute season finale airs Sunday, April 3rd on AMC.
