Executive Producer David Alpert did not hold back on his excitement about Sunday’s finale of Season 6 of The Walking Dead when talking to Access Hollywood.

The hype is real. The cast and producers of The Walking Dead are usually pretty excited about the show, but also pretty coy and creatively cautious with their answers in interviews.

There are lots of “we’ll have to see what happens” and, “I’m excited about the direction it’s headed,” blah, blah, blah. But we’ve heard things about cast not being able to speak and being sick to the stomach.  People throwing scripts. Things about the show being changed forever.

All this about the finale and one cat named Negan. Executive Producer David Albert talks about what will happen to the internet this weekend. “This weekend’s episode is going to melt the internet.”  I say the internet oven is already preheating.

"“I am so excited to see the horrified faces on all my co-workers when I walk into the office Monday morning, because people are going to be losing their minds. This weekend’s episode is going to melt the internet.”"

People are already nuts! Twitter and Facebook are going crazy. People are so excited and terrified. Fans don’t know what to do with themselves. It’s a huge paradox or catch 22 or whatever else you can call it. They know death is coming and it’s what makes the show great, but they are begging AMC that it not be Daryl or that it not be Glenn, etc.

They are preparing their bodies for the physical reaction. David Albert had his thoughts for the fans on that. “I suggest diapers and tissues.”  He thought a defibrillator was a bad idea for fear of electrocution because of all the tears!

The finale is 93 minutes long followed by Talking Dead with Robert Kirkman, Scott Gimple, and Norman Reedus. In preparation for the finale, there is a season 6 marathon starting on Saturday night or Sunday early morning.

Hopefully, it will live up to the hype, yet won’t kill us. And the cliffhanger will make us long to want to know what happens next and not frustrate us because we don’t know what just happened.
