Talking Dead Recap: Fear the Walking Dead Episode 202
By Susie Graham
Lou Diamond Phillips, Lyndie Greenwood and Kim Dickens sat on the couch in the Talking Dead apartment after this episode of Fear the Walking Dead.
In a video clip interview, Cliff Curtis talked about how difficult it is to look at his son and not understand him. He’s trying to protect him and he doesn’t really even recognize him. It’s hard as a parent to watch your child get a thrill from killing these infected people.
Lyndie Greenwood added that as scary as it is for his dad to see, it’s probably good for Chris to stand up and take some control. Travis probably needs to give Chris some space.
Kim said that Madison can’t fathom that that much of the country is gone. Lou brought up interesting points about how much quicker our group here is getting information. In Georgia they were chasing things–they didn’t know DC was shut down or Atlanta had fallen or the CDC was a dead end.
Here they just got a bunch of intel about the cities being gone that many people probably don’t have any idea about yet. So the group is in a more informed place in some ways yet they are still in an earlier stage of understanding and acceptance in other ways.
Kim Dickens talked about the little girl actress who had to bite her mom’s neck. She got the job done in one take. The little girl said she imagined her dog chomping and tugging on his toys! Great method acting!

Lorenzo James Henrie talked on a clip about how it was a release of rage for Chris to kill the walkers as well as revenge for killing his mom. My own observation is that Chris is one if the first, if not the first character on Fear to have that rage release on a walker. Most characters get that at some point in Walking Dead land.
Mercedes Mason told us in a clip that she was letting her father know that she understood him better now. She realized that maybe he did what he had to do to survive and things are more cruel than she might have known before.
