The Walking Dead: Norman Reedus rep denies Star rumor
By Adam Carlson
Recently, Star Magazine had an article stating The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus is pressuring AMC for more screen time. The actor’s reps deny this rumor.
Famous actors with prominent roles in popular television shows or movie series have a lot of leverage. They know fans have come to love them and would not like if their character had a decreased role or didn’t get a raise for their work. Also, these celebrities can use their power to influence casting decisions and make story changes.
The current rumor going around from Star Magazine is that The Walking Dead superstar Norman Reedus is using his notoriety from AMC’s hit zombie survival drama to demand more on-screen time during season 7 and have stories revolve around him and his real-life friend Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan.
Here is what Star Magazine had to say about Norman Reedus and his situation with The Walking Dead according to an article by Inquisitr:
"“Norman is the fan favorite, and he’s using that to his advantage with the writers. He was instrumental in getting Jeffrey added to the show, and he wants next season to center around their characters — and if that means zombies kill off Rick [Andrew Lincoln] or Glenn [Stephen Yeun], so be it.”"
This wouldn’t be something out of the ordinary for an actor to demand, but famous Hollywood gossip crushing website Gossip Cop got to the bottom of the situation, contacting the representatives for Norman Reedus and obtaining this statement:
"“Norman has absolutely nothing to do with the casting or storylines on the show. He has strong friendships with Andrew, Steven and Jeffrey, and is thrilled to work with them all as much as humanly possible. We would have given the same quote to Star, if they bothered to call us to fact check.”"

For now, there is absolutely no reason to believe this rumor regarding Norman Reedus’ demands to AMC regarding The Walking Dead are true. The UK’s Star Magazine has a track record for taking gossip without looking into it and running with the story. While this also doesn’t mean there is no truth to the story, fans of AMC’s zombie drama shouldn’t worry that one of the stars is trying to change the story of the most popular show on television going forward.
