Filming for AMC’s mega-hit zombie survival drama series The Walking Dead will begin filming its 7th season around Senoia, Georgia in May of 2016.

Fans who just can’t seem to wait to get more action from AMC’s The Walking Dead and are struggling through the long break after the conclusion of season 6 have some good news coming their way. According to a post on ComicBook.com, principal photography on the hit show’s seventh season will begin on Monday, May 2, 2016.

Of course, this means that the stars of The Walking Dead will also be filming the conclusion of the scene where Negan kills a member of Rick’s group in front of the saviors and the rest of the individuals from Alexandria in the lineup. The cliffhanger that left fans not knowing the possible fate of many of the show’s most popular stars is both an amazing point of speculation as well as a sore spot for many viewers, but hopefully AMC can return to this scene and give fans the major payoff that they deserve for the long wait.

However, there is also a lot more to season 7 than just finding out whose head got smashed in. Fans will also likely be introduced to other civilizations as well as find out how the existing ones are going to deal with having to pay tributes to The Saviors and still manage to survive and thrive as communities.

Sadly, this also means that there will eventually be filming spoilers released as well. Although Undead Walking will not be covering this kind of spoiler, we won’t pretend as though it doesn’t exist. Still, we will do our best not to distribute these kind of details to readers who aren’t interested in having future events on the show revealed.

For now, fans of The Walking Dead can still take comfort in watching Fear The Walking Dead‘s second season on AMC, read the amazing comic book series or wait for the DVD/Blu-Ray set of The Walking Dead‘s sixth season to be released by Anchor Bay. Even with those things to help fans out during the long wait, it feels like a long time until October when Rick Grimes and the rest of the folks in Alexandria return with new episodes.
